Brad Duke's X

  1. This is so rad! I love the play on x's and o's with the different teams and the subtle x's and o's on their uniforms. The only issue I see is the teammate on the "o" team's nose is in an awkward position right above the other dude's head. It almost creates a tangent. Also the same guy's eyes don't look quite finished or rendered completely compared to the great detail everywhere else.

  2. This is a great idea! How hilarious! The composition is working nicely. The colors are great. The only thing that's bugging me is the Yellow X Man's left hand. It doesn't quite seem to fit the rest.

  4. You have great colors ( especially the red guys in front and greenish gold in back). the story of the piece is told very well, a.k.a. it only took me a nanosecond to tell whats going on in this piece!

May I offer some perspective? I feel jipped at the fourth guy's head being cut off. The one to angry man's right. I would like to see a little more of him. Maybe if he were crouching down more?

  5. This is a great idea! I really like the composition and the colors. I have two suggestions. The first is the left hand, as was mentioned before. The second is that the sliver of green bamboo in the right corner is a little bit confusing, it might be better to leave it out.

  6. Also...should there be ink on the brushes? i dunno. maybe not!

  7. Bradley = fantastic! This is great!! This idea is so fun and the style is sweet!! I would just say to maybe bump up the contrast in your people. There's just a slight contrast for the figures as a whole but I feel like if you pushed it a little more it would make them stronger in the piece. I reallly like this one Brad!!

  9. Pretty freaky, Brad! The colors and line work turned out awesome. The only suggestion I can think of is that the guys red guy's head is really simple compared to the yellow guys, where it might work better compositionally to have more detail in the guy that's closer, and less in the guy far away, if that makes sense. But really, who cares- it looks gooood.

  10. Such a great variety of colors! And I like that you made a departure from the style of your last project without going way off the deep end. I love the eyes peering over the red guy's head especially but yeah that tangent on the nose... little distracting. Other than that, really fun

  11. Very nice circle composition - a lot of movement. I like the color scheme you have - especially the guys bun. Nice two-tone. I like little things like how you can see the guy in the back holding/pulling out a sword! Adds a really nice touch. Maybe somehow incorporate more sincerity to the main characters emotion; like a redder face if he is angry, or he is in the process of standing up because his emotions are so out of control! Nice work.

  12. Unique idea! I think its working pretty well. The expression is great and the narrative is interesting! I think the tangent created by the top of the guys head and the other man's nose is a little bit distracting. Good work!

  14. Love the idea! Really well done, too. The one thing that bugs me is where the one red guy's nose touches the head of the other red guy, that feels awkward to me.
