Samantha Long Samhain

T-shirts designs

I was thinking after our critique today about some of your images and what they can be used for. T-shirts are a good way to go and there are some companies that do art contests for their t-shirt designs and that might be something to look into. Design by Humans is a cool company that has a lot of interesting t-shirt designs that are artist submitted. I think they still run their contest weekly and if your design is picked they run it and you can get money for it as well. One of the nice things about doing this kind of work (ie involving royalties etc) is that you can continue to get money even after the work is all done. Just something to think about!

Brad Duke's X

Samantha Long X

This is based off of Byzantine art and the Chiro Greek symbol for Christ. There's the parable of the Sower in there, too.

Ariel Edwards - X Project

Idea: Symbolic.  The brown birds represent those caught in the cycle of everyday humdrum (they have x's as if they are targets).  The white bird is symbolic of freedom from that cycle.

I am have a lot more I want to do with it, but here is what I have so far. X=multiply=bunnies. :)

X Project Becca Bolduc

So I wasn't able to scan my piece in time for the blog post but I will be scanning it for the actual competition. That being said, my colors are slightly off, and the contrast isn't as high as the physical piece.

Alright this one is more true to the original color...see, much different

Kelsey Critchfield - Project X

I painted this in oils, so it was hard to get a good picture without a little glare from the paint (top left wing). Also, I smeared my own blood on this.
