I think I like the acrylic version because of the brighter colors and the messier texture, but I think that is just a personal preference. I guess where the nose runs of the page is different in each version, and I can't decide which is best. Nice colors!
I think both have qualities that meshed together would make it superb. I love the textures in the Acrylic one. I like how smooth the woman's face is in the digital one. Maybe you could keep the texture in the shadows and background for sure and let the lights be a little smoother. The woman's neck gets a little splotchy for me. Great composition and clever idea.
I love your concept! Such a cool/creepy idea for "x". I like the acrylic version because of the great textures and values. The digital version has some edges that seem too sharp or stiff (like in the hair, chin, and collar) - I think it would work if you used more of that rather than soft curvy edges with the stiff, sharp edges or else it doesn't seem to flow all together.
I prefer the acrylic because it has more warmth. And texture. it adds interest, it is more captivating to me at least. Your craftsmanship is so tight! seriously, i love it (the good tight. the tight that says you spent time on the piece.)work on designing the lines in the hair a little more, like Brett Helquist was saying to design the lines in your tree bark a little more. That will make it even more captivating than it already is!
I love your composition! Your story is very clear and interesting. I prefer the acrylic version because of the texture and the warmer tones. The only thing that I find distracting is the shadow on the woman's hair. If it were a little more subtile, it might draw less attention.
This one is so sweet! I really like the acrylic version! That texture adds so much to the piece I feel. I really have no negative feelings towards this post, and I know thats not super helpful, but I just love this piece the way it is!!
Hey maaang! Nice werk, I've am loving these praintings! I think maybe the digital one conveys the feeling of exorcism better just because of the more subdued colors, less saturated colors, and more subtle value changes in the shadows. But they are both bootyful. Pleaz can i has them for my house.
I like the texture and warm color of the acrylic. This is such an interesting piece and makes you want to figure out the meaning. I feel like the more subdued colors, like was probably said before, goes with the creepy theme more, but found the acrylic more visually appealing by itself.
Nice job, Jarom! Nailed it! This is literally perfect.
This comment is perfect.
Acrylic wins, no questions, and your use of shape and negative space is wonderful. I'd just echo Helquist's advice on the strands of hair hinting more of the structure than just decorative lifework
Nice job!!! Acrylic for sure I think. I also really enjoy the fact that you get your message across SO clearly. I would know exactly what is going on without any words or explanation. You reached the ultimate goal of an illustration! Congratulations! Your composition also rocks. And colors. I literally can't think of what I would change about it. Maybe make the girls mouth sort of scary? Like gaping open...or sharp teeth? Yikes. That could be sort of freaky.
Just scan in the acrylic, mirror the digital one and create a full face with two priests! If you choose not to do that, which I don't know why you wouldn't, I like the acrylic one better overall. Excellent work! I really like this. A lot. Give this to me, eh?
I love the acrylic version. The design is very simple, but it works well. Good job! I love the combined shape of the everything black. I know why the lady has limited expression, but I think exaggerating her would help. Great work!
Love it! In all sincerity, I wouldn't change a thing.
I like the paint one better, by the way.
